My island, my rules.
Name: Lucille Gabrielle Seabrooke
Age: 19
Ethnicity: Seychelloise
Island: Île des Sirènes
Occupation: Overseer (or rather, heir)
❦
Personality: Though Lucille comes from one of the roughest crowds in the seas, she is surprisingly sheltered and naïve. It's true that she's heard stories, witnessed things, and done things that no little girl should, but her view of the world is remarkably optimistic. She is afraid of very little, and has dreams as a big as the sky.
She has had everything handed to her on a silver plate since she was young, and as long as she is on the island, she will. Her spoiled and sheltered personality comes from this, as her mother has ensured that her daughter would never face hardship. In return, she inherits much of the management of the island, and enforces her mother's rules that she agrees with, bitterly argues the ones she doesn't, and ruthlessly metes out punishments for her own rules. Surprisingly for a cute-looking girl like her, the consequences of disobeying her rules can be brutal. Anyone who has raped can consider themselves no longer with life nor genitals; anyone who speaks back to her will find themselves with a lovely new Colombian necktie; anyone who jeers or whistles or makes a joke she doesn't like will soon find their cheeks torn open. Her judgment is oftentimes unpredictable, and as she is never hesitant to resort to violence, it is best that her guests tread carefully. Despite this, she is very reluctant to hurt anyone she perceives as innocent (her definition of this is sometimes a bit skewed).
With her position of power comes a great sense of bravado. Lucille is sure-footed, loud, and very open with her feelings. Those who upset or disgust her are sure to know, and she isn't likely to hold her tongue for anyone. After all, she is fully aware of her offensive capabilities, and the weight of the threat which is being the daughter of one of the most fearsome former pirates of the seas. The only semblance of diplomacy arises when dealing with traders and government officials, and even then she doesn't hesitate to hold anything she can over her heads.
In spite of the reputation this has earned her as the fierce and precocious overseer-in-training, she is by nature a very warm girl. She cares greatly for her mother and her friends (of which she has many), and though she might be demanding and occasionally careless of them, she is willing to go to great lengths to ensure their safety and happiness. However she isn't the most sensitive person, and her attitude quite frankly borders on flippant, which sometimes leads to ruts in her relationships.
Her other affections come into play with animals. She is unusually delighted by them, and owns several exotic animals which she keeps as pets. Many of them are deadly, and her house (more of a mansion, really) boasts attractions such as an alligator and piranha pool, which are introduced the the most unfortunate of her guests. In spite of this, she has quite harmless creatures that she takes care of too, such as goldfish, storks, peacocks, and lemurs. Her absolute favorite animals are sea-creatures, however, and she often visits the reefs by the island for a swim with the fish. She's also quite intent on catching a shark to add to her collection someday.
Even though Lucille has everything she could ever want on the island, including stability and riches, she yearns for adventure. It isn't much of a surprise, considering that her mother was the terror of the seas, and her father set sail even in spite of the luxury of his wife's position. She wants to sail further than anyone has ever sailed before, and maybe, just maybe, she can find out what happened to make her father not return from his fateful journey.

History: Growing up with everything she ever wanted, the entire world (as far as she's concerned) is her oyster. With her mother as one of the most powerful personalities of the seas, Lucille was spoiled from a young age and continuously lavished with gifts such as jewelry, dresses, and exotic wildlife. She lived a life comparable to any governor's daughter, and her story might have ended there, as the overseer's pampered daughter, but neither her personality nor her mother's would have allowed for something like that.
Her mother greatly adored her as an only child, and expected her to become the capable heir to the island. For this, Lucille was taught to read and write, educated in current events and diplomacy. These things she resented, and would often disappear during the times of her classes. She much preferred her lessons in swordplay and hand-to-hand combat, and quickly became proficient at both, using her slight build to her advantage and having the ability to take down a man several sizes larger. During her free time, she would always explore the island and lose herself in the Eastern side, which was too dense with forest for any bustle.
Though she loves the island, Lucille yearns for adventure. During her younger years, she would sneak onto the ships at port and sail away with their crew, using her mother's name as collateral. Somehow, she would always be found by her mother's ship anyway, but eventually the woman caved and allowed Lucille on months-long journeys with the more trustworthy ships, warning that she would have the entire crew's heads and genitals if harm came upon her beloved daughter.
Though she has abandoned becoming a passenger on other ships, Lucille still hasn't lost that thirst for adventure. Even though she manages the island's dealings and enforces its unwritten laws now, she hasn't forgotten the stories her mother had told her about her father, who sailed off one day and whose ship had simply disappeared. She frequently asks around the city for any news of a ship called the Bloody Maiden (which was named for her mother, according to the stories), and has gathered some clues as to what might have happened to it during that mysterious journey.
She has decided, and made it known, that within one year, she is going to set sail on her own to search for her father.
