Name: Toris Laurinaitis
Age: 28
Personality: Toris has a melancholic disposition. He falls into depressive moods and can be pessimistic. He suffers from headaches and stomach problems because he overworks himself and ignores his health. He has a subservient nature and tries to please everyone. He gets taken advantage of easily by others and gets frustrated by the fact that he gives so much but gets little back. He won't expect anything in return, but a little thanks goes a long way with him.
He is meek, but never mistake that for weakness. He can be surprisingly bold – if given the chance. His patience and sheer tenacity can wear away at even the hardest of souls. He's not a coward. He simply prefers a peaceful, diplomatic approach to things. While he caves in under pressure, he also thrives from it. He maintains a cool head and, as of yet, no one has ever seen him angry. (Though there are rumors.) His temper is like a blizzard: Cold, precise, and unparalleled. While forgiving, he can hold a grudge for the longest time.
Toris is bright and imaginative. He is a fast learner. What he doesn't learn right away, he picks up through sheer determination... and a lot of studying. He's a good student and even though he is well-read, he learns best from a hands-on approach. He is perfectionistic and likes order, but tends to procrastinate. He has a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. His jokes sometimes fly right over people's heads because they are not sure whether he is being funny or being serious. He's a good natured person who likes taking care of people. He is empathetic, kind, and willing to lend an ear. Even though he can be cold, he's the type to take a person into his heart once he gets used to them. When he's in his comfort zone, he is sociable and charming - in a dorky way. While normally withdrawn, he can be overbearing with his affection. Outwardly, he is friendly and pleasant if not shy.
A romantic at heart, he dreams of being someone's knight in shining armor. He tries to keep it hidden by putting up a front, but his heart is clearly pinned to his sleeve. He is sentimental and keeps letters and trinkets from past relationships. He loves passionately and sometimes loves too much – and gets hurt because of it. Perhaps his biggest problem is loving the wrong people. Saucy romance novels are a guilty pleasure of his.
Toris simply cannot stand still. He constantly fidgets and tinkers with things. He talks with his hands. He keeps a journal on hand for those lulls of time he has to himself. If he has nothing better to do then he will gather what he can find and craft something together. If he isn't allowed to occupy himself then he'll pick at his appearance, play with his hair, twiddle his thumbs, tap his feet, etc.
Three Choices For Positions: ♥King of Hearts; My first choice. As a King he would be kind, caring, and gentle. Fitting for someone whose symbol is the heart. His Kingdom would be more like a democracy rather than a monarchy. He would listen to his people and address their concerns. He would use his authority to act as their servant to carry out their wishes to the best of his ability. However, he will have to surround himself with honest people or else someone could lead him astray and mold his power for their own gain. I imagine him to be the lonely King of Hearts. He can fall in love with anyone he pleases – and often does... but that doesn't mean his love will be reciprocated or even good for the Kingdom. The ultimate symbol of Love will be constantly left heartbroken. In the end, he would choose what is best for his people. He probably got this position through diligence and a little bit of Luck. His parents weren't nobility (Fives or Sixes, perhaps?) but pushed him to do better. This Toris would be more experienced... but also more melancholic because of the sacrifices he might have to make.
♥Nine of Hearts; If not the King then perhaps an Ambassador? He's introverted, but patience, a good ear, and a willingness to serve makes him an excellent diplomat. The upside is that he is likeable, willing to compromise, and tolerant of things that would make most people flip over a table and storm out of the room. The downside is that he is a pushover. Be sure to pair him with another ambassador or else he might be pushed into decisions he might not want to make. I imagine that he started as a Five and became the King's “favorite”. This Toris would be under stress, but more open around people. Not to mention, the opportunity for romance only multiplies. Ooh la la~
♥Seven of Hearts; If neither of the above, then a servant of a different kind. Toris being a knight has always stuck with me. His nature would conflict with his role on the battlefield. However, he's willing to serve for a good cause. He would adhere to a Code of Chivalry while wooing the ladies... and a few lads, perhaps? I imagine that he would either lower his rank to pursue his dreams or try to climb to more peaceful position... Unless he discovers that he likes the thrill of battle? He probably started off as a Four and through training and hard work became a knight. This Toris would be bolder, disciplined, and more passionate... but also colder and more introverted.
