IC:
Name: Vash Zwingli
Age: 25
Personality:
Diplomatic: Vash is a peacemaker. Or rather, he'd prefer peace and dealing with things via negotiation. He'd rather settling things with compromise rather than with violence (though that doesn't account for just how trigger happy he may be). He tries to talk and reason things out, even if people tend to be very unreasonable and very infuriating at times. He's not a diplomat in the occupational sense, unfortunately. His job isn't to reason with people, though it's included in the job description. Not everyone believes in his diplomatic ideal, which is when he would have to resort to violence.
Reclusive: He's a recluse. He's shy naturally and he doesn't express his feelings in the most artistic and suave way possible. He'd rather be sleeping in at home than going to some big soiree. It's a fact and he isn't going to fight it. It's not that he fears people, he just prefers not to deal with them.
Frugal: Sometimes this is good, sometimes this is bad. He knows how to save his money. And he won't spend it at his own luxury unless he absolutely had to. It's the Swiss ideal. He'd prefer to get the cheese on sale rather than the absolutely luxurious gouda. If he had the opportunity to save money, he'd take it. He's an obsessive couponer. He wants to save his money, though he doesn't exactly know what he's saving up for. Because of his frugality, he's also become quite a good investor and quite good and keeping tabs on where his money is going. And shhh, he does have a special place in his home for his coupon books...
Critical: Though he won't be critical when buying things, he's very critical of people. He's inclined to criticize you at any given moment. He does somehow unintentionally undermine people with his critical cynicism but he only speaks truth. If someone isn't speaking their mind, he'll make them speak their mind (eventually).
Short-Tempered: Even if he's diplomatic, he has quite a bit of a temper. He can't help it, he has a short fuse and people are being idiots around him, not doing things right, causing strife, wasting oxygen... He isn't short tempered to everyone, but if you have made his evergrowing idiot list, you will have to feel the heat.
Guarded: He's very, very slow to trust others. To him, it's become apparent that he's alone in this world, that other aren't to be trusted, and that he can only trust himself and his own sister. Of course, he doesn't flaunt this, but trusting others has never been his strong point. He'll more likely rely on himself and expect incompetence from those around him. And he has his reasons for being guarded.
Proper: Everything in social order, strictly accurate, no coloring out of the lines proper. He tends to preach to people, a habit he's trying to get out of. He's got the usual polite manner and respect for authority, though he won't respond well to change. He's also quite close-minded, even if he likes compromise. Quite a problem, really.
Trigger-Happy: When compromise isn't working, he'll resort to those dire measures. And he doesn't mind resorting to dire measures. He's not slow to pull the trigger. He'll pull out the gun that he has the most faith in and take a shot.
Serious: He's more inclined to internal thoughts than external expression. He obviously doesn't appear to be the life of the party. He doesn't want to be the life of the party. His sense of humor is... not a sense of humor, actually. Think of his sense of humor like a Swedish comedy movie, where their sense of humor is to blow up a cow. Except Vash wouldn't be blowing up cows, blessed creatures, he'd be blowing up pigs. He's very dependable but he's... bland? He's out of the loop, that's for sure.
Stingy: Something that springs out of his frugality, he hates to admit that he's probably the most stingy person you'd ever meet. He's not generous in the materialistic sense. If he's going to give you anything, he'd give you time, and he doesn't like wasting time either. He hordes his money like a dragon hordes a princess in a cave. He's determined to keep his money and determined not to get broke. He won't give to charity or give any broke friends money, as stated before, he only gives time.
Stubborn: Again, something that keeps him away from being as diplomatic as he could be. He's bull-headed. His preaching really is a product of his stubbornness. The answer is usually going to be no. He isn't someone to be controlled. He'll be loyal wherever he wants to be loyal, an enemy to those who cross him (though within reason of course), and his stubbornness is a natural defensive reaction. He isn't one to yield too easily, but eventually he'll want to achieve compromise.
Three Choices For Positions:
Jack of Diamonds
Nine of Hearts
Exiled King of Diamonds
EXPLAIN Your Three Choices:
♦ His canon role and what a fitting roll this is for him. He's the kind of guy you would go to for advice, who wouldn't go over the top and keep with rationality, and would even preach to you if you're going the wrong direction! He could be your kind of mentor type. Despite his temper, which can somewhat cloud his vision, the anger can usually stem from his distaste of stupidity. Also, you can believe in his utmost loyalty and desire to keep things right, especially because his younger sister is Queen. He will be a very good voice of rationality in the court.
♥ Vash is a diplomat at heart and is a lover of the art of compromise. He believes in peace, prosperity, and negotiation. He is skilled in this art and actually would hate to resort to violence when problems arise. He isn't one to want to start a fight and will remain as level-headed as possible in most situations (though he can be irrational when it comes to things such as his sister). He can assess and analyze any situation in order to come to a clear-cut solution and will voice his opinions on situations as best as he could. Even if he could be blunt, he means it in good intentions.
♦ I can explain this more if I am assigned this role, but I do not think Vash would necessarily be the most innocent man around if he were put on the path of a crime. If I were assigned this role, I will be able to explain why he is siblings with Lili and yet isn't the King himself. Though Vash is of high values, even the highest shall fall from grace, and even the most upright will be corrupted by the vices of greed and desire.
HISTORY:
Vash Zwingli is a good man. One with good intentions, but a heart cloaked by greed. But how may he help it, if the temptations of greed were constantly put in his path and the power to get just what he wanted was put in his hands? Everything was served to him on a silver platter and it would only be a matter of time when the splendor of his days would seem like mere squalor to him, in which he would have to work more to reach where he believed he deserved.
