Name: Andrei Marinuta
Age: 24
Personality: Andrei is very outgoing and a huge social butterfly. He doesn't mind being in large crowds, if anything that's when he really shines. He can be both playful and serious, depending on what the situation calls for. He knows when it's time to enjoy himself and when he should put all joking aside and get down to business. He has a short temper, though he tries his best to keep it in check. He's also a bit on the secretive side, not one to let himself be read as an open book.
Three Choices For Positions:
- Queen of Clubs; The role of Queen would suit Andrei well because he would do his best to make sure the kingdom is as good as can be. He may have a habit of lying from time to time, but his loyalty to the region would make him unable to do so unless it's for the benefit of the people. He can't afford a mass panic among his subjects, now can he? No one would want that, which is why he won't be afraid to cover up the truth for a while until the time is right. He wouldn't let emotions get in the way of decisions, he would do what was best and what the public would want. He wouldn't mind making a compromise if a certain choice would make everyone in the region unhappy. He's a people please-er, nothing more to it. The reason I chose this role because Moldova is one of the most poorest nation in Europe, and since the second symbol for Clubs is the Wands, which symbolize poverty, it would make sense that Andrei could possibly have such a high rank. I find he's more suited to be Queen as opposed to being King because it would make sense for him to focus more on what goes on in the kingdom, since Moldova relies heavily on agriculture and the symbol of Wands/Staves is tied with the farmer class. He would have gotten this position by being appointed as an heir and took up the title as Queen when the former Queen was lost. This is the position I would like the most.
- Seven of Clubs; Seven would be a good choice for Andrei because he is a fan of weapons, it isn't strange to see a wide smile on his face when handling one. He is also very loyal to whatever side he is on and wouldn't dare think of betraying them if they've done him no wrong. He would carry out his orders without hesitation, even if said orders are a bit troublesome. He wouldn't flinch or feel remorse if commanded to put an end to someone's life. Orders are simply orders and have to be carried out unless ordered to do otherwise. I found this role fitting because it shows that Andrei doesn't mind getting his hand dirty. A knight/soldier role would fit him because it would show his loyalty to the kingdom. He wouldn't be fit enough to be an Ace, since Moldova doesn't rank high when it comes to military. That doesn't mean he isn't a fighter, which is why I think this rank is a good choice as well since it shows that Moldova is still capable of fighting if need be. I picked Clubs for this option is because the element of fire can relate to Andrei's short temper in a way, and that he would have the will to keep moving forward even in the most dire of situations. Andrei would have started as a Seven to begin with, not once moving a rank.
- Three of Clubs; Andrei can be melodramatic and he has a talent for acting, it wouldn't make sense for Three to not be an option for him. He would be an actor, preforming flawlessly on stage, reciting each line by heart. He won't break character even once, he would actually become his role whether it's during rehearsal or on opening night, from the time the curtain opens to when it falls. He enjoys being in the limelight, especially if he's right in the center of it all. The main reason I picked this role as an option was that Andrei, having a strong like for plays and acting, would most likely enjoy the role in itself. Not only that, but three being a card of low value, and Clubs being the suit that represents peasantry, both emphasize the fact that Moldova is poorer than almost all of the rest of Europe, if not all. With this role he would be putting those skills of his to some good use by entertaining the people around him. Andrei would have originally been a Five, but was moved down to a Four and then to a Three for making too many mistakes in both previous ranks.
History:
Andrei was born as an Eight of Clubs, he was raised to be able to take one of the thrones from a very young age. His mother died in child labor, so it was just him and his dad for the longest while. His father was very strict, making sure that Andrei followed closely to the guidelines laid out for him. He spent most of his time learning about not only the Kingdom of Clubs, but the other three kingdoms as well (relations to the Clubs, about their current rulers, an overview on how each was like, etc.), though it wasn't uncommon for him to sneak out to see what the Kingdom was like firsthand instead of reading about it in a book. He thought that there were just some things that couldn't be taught inside a room all day.
He fell in love with the people when he first walked about, in fact he loved everything. The sights, the sounds, everything was just wonderful. He didn't understand why his father tried to shelter him away from it all. If he was going to rule, why shouldn't he be able to experience everything for himself? Heck, if he was going to be a King or Queen, he should at least get to know the people he was ruling first. Actually, those experiences were the reason he wanted to be Queen instead of King. He wanted to help the people in the kingdom, to be someone his subjects knew they could rely on.
When he voiced his wants to his father the old man wasn't all that happy. He had hoped that his son would be more ambitious and would seek to be King, but he eventually gave into Andrei's wishes. His studies focused more on the interior of the kingdom and how things worked as a whole, along with the duties a Queen would do. As the years passed, the more it seemed like whatever liveliness there was in the house had left entirely. He didn't know exactly what went wrong, but just that the only time his father spoke to him was during lessons. He also kept a very close eye on him, so Andrei was no longer able to sneak out like he used to. His days turned as dull a grey as they get, but that didn't stop him from trying his best to achieve his goal.
