Name: Amelia Brownell Jones
Age: 25
Personality: Amelia is kind, thoughtful, personable, and a cheerful individual. There aren't many things about her that are visibly enigmatic; the way her eyes sparkle and the way a smile touches her lips are commonly genuine. She seldom shows sign of dismay or disapproval, but when she does, she is usually very honest or tactical about it. Yet she is human; sometimes she makes brash decisions off her impulsiveness or sometimes she refuses to do something because of her stubborn idea of justice. She is quite aware that her naivete sometimes gets her in wishful mindsets but her determination to see more good in the world is what inspires her to stay strong.
Three Choices For Positions:
Queen
The role of a ‘Queen’ fits Amelia because of America’s role in the world and her nature. America is undoubtedly one of the leaders of the world; Amelia being in a position of power is more or less an allusion to it. Though it is ironic that she is taking up queenship (for America had fought to get away from monarchy), Amelia being seated on the throne has some significance. She would be exalted on a dais where she can freely influence people and enforce rules as according to her sense of justice. Her personality also complements the position of a queen. Her strengths are great; she is compassionate about people and social justice, determined, resilient, and aspires to make progress. Her downfalls will also be interesting in the scene of monarchy. Amelia’s stubborn and impulsive nature reveals that she indeed has the backbone to rule yet, at the same time, will show others how imperfect ad naïve she can sometimes be. She won't abuse her power, she is the resourceful type and will use every drop that this position can give her.
How Amelia actually got into queenship--well, I would have to say that she has been extremely social. I think it'd be an interesting backstory if she was a mid-class girl who worked her way up to the court due to schooling success (it kinda symbolizes the transition from colonial America to like... being #1 in the world for a while ok). Her desire to learn and keenness on innovation is probably what helped her on the dais. The honor began with being a maester by knowing extensive things about social justice, psychology, and history. Because of her willpower (and the famous American tenacity, I might add), she became and adviser for the Queen. Since she was actually born outside of the walls, she has a bit of a more refreshing outlook on the kingdom and its denizens.
Handmaiden
Being a handmaiden for Amelia also complements her personality because she loves to help. A handmaiden for the queen—well, that is the next best thing. Amelia adores being around where power is in hopes of somehow influencing it. If placed in a position such as this, Amelia’s biggest virtue would be her aspirations to climb higher up the ladder. Because of her nature, she wouldn’t scheme around; rather, she will help the Queen in hopes of being acknowledged for her faithfulness and whole-heartedness. As seen in history many times, Americans have had a lot of ‘dreamers’ that aim for something grand—the Manifest Destiny, the American Dream, etc. By being in this position, I want to be able to exemplify American kindness or the ‘Southern Hospitality’ through Amelia’s actions as a handmaiden.
Stablehand
My version of Amelia represents the countryside of America, of which farmlands, farm animals, and romanticization of nature is prominent. It is a region often forgotten when America-muses are created; it is probably one of the most prominent and unique aspect of American history. Amelia’s persona is, as described beforehand, one that cares about other people and things. Though she does have dreams of grandeur, it is also interesting to see her with a humble occupation. Like what I said in the ‘handmaiden’ paragraph, she would dream to aspire for a higher position. The only difference is that she will absolutely love this job because she genuinely cares about horses. Being a stablehand will show her tune with nature and the fauna. The idea of a simple girl with a simple job who possesses complex and genuine dreams and love of all things is something that fits the rarely-mentioned parts of America.
